The perfect weekend is incomplete if you don’t step out for that perfect Sunday brunch. It is that one day of the week when you can afford to stay in bed for a little longer and follow it up with a scrumptious meal.

At the same time, is your brunching excitement short-lived with those wardrobe woes? It is a catch 22 situation while getting ready for a brunch. It isn’t as casual as a breakfast to step out in your PJs nor is it as fancy as a lunch to really dress up. It is a bit of this and a bit of that. So if you carefully choose the colors, silhouettes, fabrics and textures, you will be a brunch babe that people look forward to seeing every Sunday!

Family Day Out

Whether it is your parents or your in –laws, you can be a little playful yet safe. Choose from a bright jumpsuit with statement jewellery. A floral dress is also a great choice for a family do. Play with prints and if you choose a maxi dress team it up with comfortable wedge heels. If you like to keep it clean and sophisticated, pick a chiffon top, team it up with a crochet skirt in a pastel shade.

Brunch with your BFFs

This is that one set of people who can really be at ease yet keep it stylish. Slip into a pair of boyfriend jeans and team it with a crop top or an oversized tee. You can wear either white sneakers, lace up gladiators or put on a pair of pumps if the restaurant is a tad bit fancy. A cute fish tale or a messy bun will give you that casual yet chic look. Accessories it with a statement watch. And, if you’re the sporty girl, then a pair of leggings with a bright printed top or khaki shorts with a shirt will also do the trick. Remember to be yourself!

It’s a Date

Now here is the real catch! It’s easy to get ready for a date night, but a date – brunch can be a tough one. A maxi dress is a good option, play with prints and colors. You can also do an off shoulder top with drawstring pants. Wide bottomed trousers with a fitted tee also spells out that style vibe.

All Work and No Play

So you get invited for a work brunch on a Sunday. No big Deal! Get a great pant suit or a blazer –skirt combo and jean it up with a bright lip color and peep toe heels. Keep the color of your suit in pastels so it adds to your day look. Accessorize with minimalistic jewellery with one piece to make a statement.

Here is a quick check list of Dos and Don’ts to keep in mind –

  • Stay away from dark make up. The sun is out and you don’t want your make up melting or shining.
  • Pick lighter fabrics that suit your body type and allow you to breathe.
  • Keep your accessories minimalistic. One statement piece should do the trick.
  • Keep your footwear comfortable. Flats work the best unless the event is formal.
  • If hair accessories are your thing, then a cute headband or even a turbaned scarf will make quite a statement. Be sure you’re confident enough to carry it off.

So while you sit outside, soak up the Sunday sun and indulge in great food and even better conversation, remember to keep it clean and comfortable.
